FULTON COUNTY GOVERNMENT

Fulton County Services Relocating to Fulton Industrial in June –
Means More Convenience for South Fulton Residents

Fulton County is making key services more convenient and accessible for South Fulton residents.  On June 22, 2010, Fulton County will open the new 30,000 square-foot Fulton County Government Service Center at Fulton Industrial, located at 5440 Fulton Industrial Boulevard.

The new facility will offer planning and zoning services from the Department of Environment & Community Development, with additional services coming on board over the next two months.  By Monday, July 26, 2010 a number of South Fulton Tax District services will relocate to the new facility from the Fulton County Government Center and the South Fulton Service Center.  These include:

•    Fulton County Fire Headquarters

•    Fulton County Police Headquarters

•    Fulton County Public Works (Transportation Division)

•    Board of Commissioners, District 7 Offices

•    Board of Commissioners, District 5 Offices

The new facility is part of Fulton County’s efforts to revitalize the Fulton Industrial Boulevard corridor and bring services closer to citizens.  The Board of Commissioners approved the lease for the new facility, along with a redevelopment plan for Fulton Industrial at its April 7 meeting.

The Fulton County Government Service Center at Fulton Industrial will also result in cost savings by consolidating other leased space.

“The Fulton Industrial Boulevard corridor has tremendous potential for redevelopment. Our goal is to make it easier for businesses to partner with us to revitalize that community, and to make it convenient for residents to access services there,” said Vice Chairman William “Bill” Edwards.

For more information about the move please contact Michelle Macauley, Senior Planner Fulton County Environment and Community Development at (404) 612.7800.
